All paper documents are stored on our premises securely in locked filed cabinets. Unlike many firms, all sensitive electronic files related to your case are stored on our hard drives using strong encryption technology. This extra measure of security protects your sensitive information against potential vulnerabilities such as Internet hackers and disgruntle employees.
Obsolete copies of all confidential documents are shredded with one quarter inch spacing, and the shredded paper is then disposed of in a manner that further prevents recovery of the sensitive information.
Our email Encryption Technology
Our firm uses Verisign PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) to secure email and transfer data in online conferences. To have secure, encrypted electronic communication all parties to the communication must have a Personal Digital ID from Verisign. 60 day free PGP Digital ID trail is available from Verisign. Under virtually all circumstances, this is plenty of time for us to work your case until completion (i.e., the time starting from when we receive your confidential submissions until when we deliver the final work product). Internal Organizational Security Measures
Bay Area Intellectual Property group always requires that any employee and/or contractor sign confidentiality agreements with our firm, and are, thus, bound to preserve all confidential information from external dissemination. Generally, any party involved in using, evaluating, and/or managing your secret information signs an agreement with the firm to not disclose your secrets to any unauthorized person. Moreover, all confidential information shared with such parties is shared only on a "need to know" basis.
